The appointment of 23 new silks to the Victorian Bar by the Supreme Court of Victoria is welcomed by Victorian Bar President, Róisín Annesley KC.

The Victorian Bar today welcomed the appointment of 23 new Senior Counsel by the Honourable Chief Justice Anne Ferguson of the Supreme Court of Victoria:

President of the Victorian Bar, Róisín Annesley KC, said, “On behalf of the Victorian Bar I congratulate each one of the 23 members who were today  appointed Senior Counsel in and for the State of Victoria. Appointment as Senior Counsel is given in recognition of excellence in advocacy and outstanding knowledge of the law. In addition, each new Silk has made a considerable contribution to the legal profession. I am confident that they will continue to do so. I wish them all the best for the next stage of their careers.”

The 2022 Silks were chosen from 80 applicants (57 men and 23 women). The Court will welcome the new Silks in a ceremonial sitting on Wednesday, 9 November 2022.
