It is with deep regret that the Bar Council informs members of the death of Beverley Hooper on 8 March 2022 at the age of 89 years.

Family, friends, and colleagues are invited to attend a private service to celebrate the life of Beverley Hooper to be held in the Renowden Chapel, Springvale Botanical Cemetery, Princess Hwy on Tuesday 12 April at 1:30 pm.

Following will be a private cremation. No flowers by request.

Beverley signed the Bar Roll on 2 March 1972.  She was amongst the first intake of female barristers at the Bar.  Beverley specialised in family law and worked voluntarily for the Children’s Protection Society for over a decade during her first years at the Bar.

Many of her colleagues will recall gathering in her chambers after work on a Friday night.

Beverley was bestowed the title of “Legend of the Bar” in 2012.

Beverley will be missed by her four children, Andrew, David, Samantha and Nick and her 8 grandchildren.
