The Victorian Bar is saddened by the death of our sovereign, her late Majesty Elizabeth II, Queen of Australia.

For 70 years, Her Majesty has well served the people of Australia and its institutions, including the law in whose name justice is carried out, with perfect dedication to service, fidelity, dignity and grace.

The Victorian Bar expresses its warmest wishes to our new King of Australia, His Majesty Charles III and extends its deepest condolences to the King and the Royal Family.

It is with deep regret that members are advised of the sudden death of John Kelly Arthur on 16 August 2022 as the result of a motorcycle accident. John was born on 7 December 1959. John was a keen motorcycle rider and was on an organised tour when the tragic accident occurred.
