In class action litigation, the stakes are high and the cases are notoriously hard-fought. And in the background there are subtle technical and strategic decisions regarding the “class” aspects of the litigation – litigation funding models, class definitions, the identification and pleading of common questions, the staging of trials, and complex settlement considerations.
The Victorian Bar has many of the most experienced class action litigators in Australia. Victorian barristers have appeared in class actions across the country. The Class Actions Section provides a forum for collegial discussion between experienced practitioners, continuing education for all practitioners, and for informed contributions to public debate and law reform initiatives.
