Jeremy practices in all areas of commercial law, and has particular experience in real property, securities, corporations law, corporate and personal insolvency, and trusts.
Since coming to the Bar, he has been briefed both led and unled to appear, advise and draw documents in a variety of commercial and regulatory matters, including:
- contract disputes;
- claims in respect of the provision or receipt of financial and other professional services;
- shareholder oppression and partnership disputes;
- disputes arising from corporate and personal insolvency;
- disputes arising from contracts for the sale of land;
- mortgage and securities recoveries;
- retail and commercial lease disputes;
- co-ownership disputes;
- caveat removal applications;
- civil penalty proceedings (for regulators);
- claims under the Australian Consumer Law;
- a variety of interlocutory hearings, including injunctions, subpoena objections, pleading summonses, applications for summary judgment and security for costs.
Prior to coming to the Bar, Jeremy was a principal lawyer, Head of Litigation and Dispute Resolution in private practice, and has practised in commercial litigation for over 10 years.
