Nic's principal areas of practice are commercial disputes and insurance law, with a focus on professional liability, class actions, corporations (including oppression and insolvency), trade practices, and complex contractual disputes concerning the development of land.
Nic has acted for and against insureds and insurers, including in coverage disputes, in a wide variety of professional liability claims involving builders, architects, solicitors, accountants, real estate agents, owners corporations, stockbrokers, and financial advisors.
Nic also has significant expertise in the regulation and licensing of financial services providers and health practitioners, complex claims in relation to sale of goods, OHS prosecutions, property insurance and life insurance.
Nic was previously Associate to the Honourable Justice Murphy in the Federal Court of Australia, and a solicitor at Lander & Rogers.
Nic was a member of Scope Victoria’s Human Research Ethics Committee, and an author of the Victorian Supreme Court practice chapter in Thomson Reuters' Practical Law.
