Solicitor-General


The Solicitor-General is the Government's most senior professional legal advocate and adviser.

The Solicitor-General is a Senior Counsel appointed by the Governor in Council to appear for the Crown in important court cases and to advise the Government on matters of law. The appointment is made subject to the provisions of the Attorney-General and Solicitor-General Act 1972 (Vic)
