Gavin Rees practises in commercial and public law.
Gavin has a broad range of litigation experience. He has acted for listed companies, government entities, directors and other individuals in various complex matters, including class actions, criminal investigations, employment law, contract and equity cases and proceedings under the Corporations Act.
Before coming to the Bar, Gavin practised as a solicitor in commercial litigation at Baker McKenzie, where he specialised in advising clients in contract and equity cases at first instance and on appeal. Gavin also previously worked at Gilbert + Tobin advising heavily regulated industries and in a range of litigious matters, as well as in class actions at the Australian Government Solicitor.
He was previously associate to the Honourable Justice Nichols of the Supreme Court of Victoria.
Gavin holds a Juris Doctor with first class honours from Melbourne Law School, where he was awarded prizes in company law, equity, constitutional law and contract.
