Neil practices predominantly in the criminal law jurisdiction and as a solicitor advocate has experience in trial work at County Court level. He maintains particular interests in employment law, contract law, sports law and environmental law.
Prior to being admitted to the legal profession, Neil spent in excess of 23 years as a member of the Victoria Police and a manager within the Legal and Compliance Division of WorkCover (now WorkSafe). Neil was a member of the Victoria Police for approximately 15 years where he served as a detective with tenure at the Homicide and Armed Robbery Squads.
Neil has experience in criminal law trials and appeals in both the County and Supreme Courts, and commits to client representation in all regions of the metropolitan and country areas, as well as interstate work in Sydney and Brisbane.
Neil has also represented high profile sports persons, including AFL footballers and professional athletes in matters involving mediation and arbitration.
Neil holds tertiary qualifications in Australian History and Indigenous Studies, and is currently pursuing a post doctrate in law. He has recently lectured in the subject of criminal law and advanced criminal law at the Navitas College of Advanced Education, Melbourne, and R.M.I.T. Melbourne, as well as officiating in moot examinations in Evidence Law at Melbourne University.
