Emma practices primarily in common law and administrative law, with a focus on personal injury and professional negligence matters. She is particularly interested in judicial review proceedings, including in relation to Medical Panel Opinions. Emma accepts advice and other paperwork briefs.
Emma also accepts briefs in a range of VCAT matters, including cases in the Residential Tenancies, Review and Regulation, and Human Rights Lists. She is able to appear and advise where matters usually within VCAT’s jurisdiction fall within the federal jurisdiction exercised by the Magistrates’ Court.
Before coming to the bar, Emma was Senior Associate to the Honourable Justice Cavanough of the Supreme Court of Victoria.
Emma holds a Master of Law from the University of Melbourne. In the LLM, Emma studied subjects including Royal Commissions and Public Inquiries, Federal Jurisdiction and Statutory Interpretation in the 21st Century. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor, both from the University of Melbourne.
