Tanya has a practice covering the following areas of law
- Child protection law
- Criminal law and
- Quasi-criminal law
Tanya has a mixed practice of criminal, quasi-criminal and child protection law. Prior to becoming a barrister Tanya worked as a Legal and Policy Officer at Victoria Legal Aid and has been a solicitor advocate in defence work. These roles brought exposure to indictable crime matters including trials in the County Court, petitions for mercy, second and subsequent appeals, supervision orders and appeals to the Supreme Court and High Court of Australia.
Tanya accepts summary and indictable crime matters.
Tanya accepts briefs to appear and advise in the Children’s Court and child protection matters.
She also appears in proceedings for intervention orders for affected family members and respondents.
She invites appearance based, written drafting, and advice briefs as well as providing written opinions sought from law firms, in-house counsel and directly from organisations.
